Monologue on Feminism

Feminism is a strong means to access the actual power held within us. That is why its take is a necessity in almost every circumstance.

But when it comes to the aftermath of a breakup, it seems non-negotiable.

If you have to wonder why then let me start off by reminding you what the former first lady Michelle Obama had to say about young girls losing themselves in pursuit of guys- that she wouldn’t have become the former first lady if she had taken that stance as common with young age she says.

Exactly why you too must be getting over that guy already.

Heartbreaks are common in life but that shouldn’t dictate whether we are ever free to think about ourselves anymore, right?!

Since it is unfair to us that only we have to carry all the emotional burden without sparing even a little bit for the guy who turned us down.

So with all the empathy for ourselves, we must heed what every female pop star has to sing about guys who reject our sincere love.

Sure there was a period of devotion for the guy who we didn’t know would become the reason for the agony that is to come.

But this is the fault of romance on screens and in pages, leading us on. The fictitiously perfect her of romance doesn’t come close to portraying what real men are like.

Some fault also lies with our naivete in putting our hopes on the screen narrative over the real one.

Truth be reiterated, how does it feel to expend every last bit of attention on a guy who couldn’t care less about us- like being sucked dry and spat out by a spinning storm.

Do we want that? No, we do not, yet we tend to get entrenched in this pattern apparently.

This is precisely where you must invoke the feminism lying dormant within you.

Then suddenly the romantic plot that once subjugated you to a state of entrapment will rewrite itself into a sensible portrayal of women like Pride & Prejudice.

All the feelings of loving nature previously has now turned into fury aimed at winning.

Ladies, let me tell you that this sort of a self-focused survival is a must for our kind.

So don’t give a penny’s thought about that guy every again, even go penniless that way if you have to.

It also helps if you look at yourself as a woman reborn and you shall never look at the guy the same way again.

PS: get a pet, find a hobby, visit somewhere new but do not contact your formerly respectable male friend every again.
