7 New Wedding Trends in the New Normal

The pandemic of our era usurped the normalcy we have always clung onto until before it globalised itself. Life about us has entered an unprecedented normalcy, even one for weddings. Of course weddings shall not stop for nothing. Case in point: we see even celebrities getting on with their nuptials during the pandemic. The wedding industry is observed to have not taken a break despite the virally contagious times. In fact they are fronting new trends to their experiences:

Getting Creative with weddings, not to say weddings had not been creative before. Recently, weddings are becoming a collective channel of experimentation & innovation owing to the circumstantial freedom of time and money which were limiting us in this aspect before. In the world of weddings far before the association of Covid-19 we had only seen the lavish expenses incurred at the end of its event. These expenses could have been to do with numerous guests livening up a conventional wedding. Reality now deems differently- weddings engage minimal entry of guests who free up the wedding

Local Destination Weddings, as opposed to the dream destination weddings. The idea of getting married used to excite us more for one such reason of flying away to an exotic venue just to be wedded. As imaginable now, we may hardly step out of our houses. Though, for exceptions as Weddings, we may be allowed to travel within the nation for a catchy local destination wedding.

Having a green ceremony has come up as a trend of weddings now. It may be the socially mindful us talking after taking on a hard hit from the pandemic. Even still, the truth is that weddings are seriously getting eco-conscious when they are putting out plants for their guests to take back home. Their guests do also find decomposable plate & cutlery or mud cups.

Safety secured guests are recently noted at weddings. In the happenings after the outbreak of    Covid-19, weddings are starting to see only a pinch of guests invited to attend the celebration in comparison with the massive scale of guests per wedding in pre-covid times. Even in their tellingly less lot, the invitees are scrutinised for signs or symptoms of Covid to ensure collective safety at the event. In the cases of travelling guests, they never travel before taking up a Covid-test and confirming a negative.

Not too much of guests has become a trend too. Some invitees are notably getting snubbed off in the name of guest list restrictions in pandemic times. In a first, we see ‘do not rsvp’ from our friends or relatives expectant of our blessings on their D-day. Though it may come off as a relief to some of us who choose not to get out much, it is still a bizarre new for us.

Brides incorporate fashioned masks in their wedding extravagance. In the pompous affair of a wedding, brides do always want to dazzle off, don’t they. And the new normalcy, you see, has offered them just another reason to set off their glamour. We are coaxed to wear on a mask at all times- by the government, by the neighbourhood, by even advertisements. When have we shown much diligence to their advice except when we are a bride.

Zoom attendees for Weddings too, with ‘zoom’ having been a keyword in glossary of the pandemic. Lately we are observing the virtuality of zoom taking over us in entirety. As strange as it may sound to some, the inclusivity of its entirety extends upto weddings. Yes, guests copping a squat at homes and connecting on zoom to view the wedding they have been e-vited to.
