Mommy had warned once
Strangers and cars in empty spots
Never heed their calls
Take a uturn on sight
But in the vast emptiness
Of a searching heart
I find my mom’s warning
Attractive in the looks of a
Hot blooded young man.
Unwittingly do I open the
Door for your entrance
To the living room of love
We lounge first shaking off all
Coldness from lonely wanders
Warming up to each other’s
Attention bedded on every
Detail of interest in commonality.
But when days together pass
And your passion has left the room
I am stranded behind in emptiness
Again, in the wake of a loss though.
My heart’s loss to rest of the totality
In moment then I stare into distance
Imagine blaring taillights of a car
In the middle of noplace known
Halting a second to lure a prey-
A creature of beauty by innocence
Thus damned to its fated plight
